Touch you later...

Another Saturday in London; I think this is the third one! Today was part of our free weekend and there were 9 of us planning to go to Windsor Castle. We woke up and caught the bus (which I paid for in advance) and rode for a little over an hour to get there. It was so surprising to see the coat of arms flying above the Round Tower! I swear the Queen is following us around! She was there when we were at Buckingham Palace too! The palace was gorgeous, of course, but there were areas that we couldn’t see because she was there. We saw the State Apartments, including the King’s bedchamber and the Queen’s Sitting Room. The rooms were amazing; full of detail and beautiful artwork! We also saw the Queen’s Dollhouse—a replica of the castle. It was huge for a dollhouse and the detail put into that was pretty shocking. There was also an exhibit on King Henry VII again because he ruled 500 years ago. We also saw where he, one of his wives, and one of his stillborn children were buried in St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of the Castle. It was really interesting. I expected the castle to be more in the country part of England but it was right across from a Barclay’s and a Carphone Warehouse. But each room was gorgeous and full of history, and I even got a refrigerator magnet with the Webb name and coat of arms on it! Maybe I’ll do some research and find out that my distant relatives were a part of the Garter royal society of knights. Very cool! Once again though, we couldn’t take pictures inside—but I got some fun ones outside. Thank God we finally found a guard to take pictures with! He wasn’t wearing the funny red getup but we took pictures with him anyway. He was a young fella who didn’t budge when we got right next to him! It was so funny—and I bet he gets really tired of people posing for pictures with him.

We got out of the castle and went to a place called Maud’s and some of us got ice cream and I got a large Mocha. It was fantastic!

After we left Windsor and rode the coach back for about an hour and a half to the Victoria Station, we headed straight back to the flat. I put up my pictures and then we went out on the town! We headed to the Angel to say hello to our favorite bartender, Neil and then headed into another bar that I can’t remember the name of. We just went on in and danced and danced with each other for a few hours. It was so fun, until random guys came up and tried to dance with us again. When that happened, we left. Now I’m just getting ready for bed and for a day at the Hampton Court Palace tomorrow! This weekend is shaping up to be nice and relaxing. I’m planning on Monday being a day where I can just go around the city by myself and do the things that I want to do without worrying about everyone else. Don’t get me wrong, I love the people that I’ve met here—but sometimes you just need some time by yourself. So far, I’m loving London and I can’t believe that I’m halfway done with my trip!

I’ll be back tomorrow!,
Whitney
