Are the tights necessary?

Today was a nice, relaxing Friday. We didn't have anything we had to be at until around 12:30 today so I was ready to sleep in. Unfortunately, I woke up at 6:30 this morning. I got up and took my time getting ready, did a little reading, made myself some peanut butter toast and hot tea for breakfast, and watched a rerun of Big Brother from this week. The people here must be obsessed with that show! It's on all the time and there are even other shows on that are dedicated to it. It's ridiculous. We left early and got some really good mexican food (almost as good as Chipotle) at a little place near the Angel Tube Station called Chilango. It had this really great winding yellow staircase that lead to more seating upstairs, and the benches were orange and pink. Very cute.

We headed to see The Tempest--another Shakespeare play--in Regent Park's Open Air Theatre after that. The venue was so great and we had awesome weather today for the outdoor show. The performance was definitely geared more toward children, and there were several school groups there. I would have enjoyed an "adult" version more, but it was still cute to see the actors involving the kids and being cute. The actor that played Ariel, the spirit on the island, was-at one point-wearing blue tights and nothing else while he danced around in some water. Strange.

After the play people just scattered throughout the city again because we had nothing else planned for the day. I went off on my own to Covent Garden where they have a shopping center full of tables set up by different vendors with all kinds of things. It reminds me of Steppin' Out at home, but they do it most days of the week. I'm working on presents and today I got one for my sister, Emily. I won't say what I got her--just in case she's reading this, but I think she's really going to love it! Can't wait to give it to her! I really do like wandering on my own through the city--in the daytime of course. I'm still too afraid and way too paranoid to walk around at night alone. And Mommy--don't worry because I don't think I'll ever get up the nerve.

I came back to the flat and made myself a quick dinner, mostly because I was still full from my burrito earlier, and then met up with the usuals for a night out. We went to a pub called the Island Queen not far from Ability. It's such a cute place! I absolutely loved it! I tried my very first mojito and had a really great glass of cider. I'm going to be such a drink snob when I get home...

Then we headed back here--another pretty early night. I'm getting up really early with some other folks to see if we can get tickets to Hamlet. It's sold out and we're going to go camp out at the box office until they open to see if there are any available because a few people got this morning them and went to the show tonight!

Cross your fingers!
Whitney
